Jeff Wood faces the Sound and the Jury

It's nice when things come together with such wonderful synchronicity that trying to spin them into something clever is totally unnecessary.

Case in point: Jeff Wood used to be in Kansas City's the Sound and the Fury. Now, he's competing as a solo artist for a spot on the Dell Stage at the Austin City Limits Festival. The name of the contest? The Sound & the Jury. It's like they wrote this for me, you know?

Wood has made it into the top 20. If you go to this page, you can listen to his song "You Didn't Know," and vote for him. If Wood manages to make it into the top 5 (he's number 15 now), he'll get to go to Austin and compete live at Antone's on September 30. If he wins that, he gets to play the ACL Festival.

Help a local boy do good.

Jeff,

So excited for you. Your brother gave me your CD and I listen to it all of the time. We own Braata Restaurant & Bar and even though my husband and son are in charge of entertainment, I should have gotten in touch w/you myself and not waited for them to. I love your music. Jeremy probably told you that we are on a tight budget but would love to see if we could work out something for you to play like every other Wed. - We currently have Garry Lincoln playing every other Wed. and it would be perfect to alternate you. Please email me if you are interested. Sounds like you have gotten a good break-Jeremy said it was going to happen sometime when it could actually be the right time for you. I know you must be a great guy! We think your brother is the BEST!!! Cathleen
