Incoming: Megadeth at the Beaumont, December 5

You read that right. Megadeth at the Beaumont? I'd figure they were at least Uptown material.

Still...nice, right? Dave Mustaine didn't exactly get presented in the best light in Some Kind of Monster, but I'm actually more inclined to understand why he writes all of those songs that come off as a man tortured and oppressed. Dude's got issues, that's for sure, and I think I understand "Sweating Bullets" now.

Megadeth is touring in support of their new album out today, entitled Endgame, with opening acts Suicide Silence and Arcanium. We also get Warbringer, who replace Machine Head starting with the tour's stop in Kansas City.

By the by, the show's date of December 5 just happens to fall on our dear music editor's birthday, so if anyone knows of a way to get Mustaine and company to play a metal "Happy Birthday" for him, that'd be awesome.

I'm going. Maybe morbid curiosity. Kind of like a Kurt Witt show, either great of train wreck.

He may not come off great in Some Kind of Monster, but Megadeth's kicked the shit out of Metallica for the last 20 years.
Countdown fucking rules.

Oh, YOU.

I will go on record here and say that I had Countdown to Extinction on cassette in high school and fucking played the shit out it.

And don't forget their contribution to the immortal 1999 film Universal Soldier: The Return, starring Van Damme and a big wrestler guy whose name I forget.

Mustaine has always intrigued me as far as crazed American metal-band figures go. He should definitely play happy birthday for me.
