MP3: Monta At Odds, "Styrofoil"

Dedric Moore, bassist for local ambient electronic quartet Monta At Odds was cool enough to send us an unmastered demo of a new song the band's recorded, called "Stryofoil."

The tune starts out with droning electronic feedback, gradually building to meld with fuzzed-out guitar. That drops out, going to a laid back drumbeat, and picking back up in the background as a wah-wah and keyboard take over, and the song becomes this chill, yet slightly groovy tune that's over far too soon.

I rarely say this, but I hope the band stretches this tune out when it plays it live. "Styrofoil" is a great tune on its own, but seems to be the basis for something that could be so much more.

Coincidentally, you can see Monta At Odds live this Saturday, October 10, when they play the Record Bar with the Roman Numerals.
