A-Ha announced yesterday that they were calling it quits after 25 years as a band:
The group have announced they will mount a farewell tour before disbanding. Only the final date, in Oslo on 4 December 2010, has so far been confirmed."We are retiring as a band, not as individuals," the band reassured fans in their statement.
"Change is always difficult and it is easy to get set in one's ways. Now it is time to move on."
The fact that A-Ha was still together was news, which is what makes this news. *rimshot* Thanks, folks -- I'll be here all week. Remember to tip your waiter, and try the veal.
If you'd still like to try and make their farewell concert, on December 4, 2010 in Oslo, Norway, tickets went on sale today at 10am Central European Time, or around 3am here.

Little know fact... they set a world record in the 90s with a concert in Rio De Janeiro, it had like 160,000 paying attendees!
Yep--one-hit wonders in the U.S. (or two-hit wonders if you remember "The Sun Always Shines on TV") but long-term stars in Europe. Twenty-five years is a long time to go before breaking up.
I absolutely love their song the bandstand (2009)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Why do they have to stop???? Why???

In May 2010 a0-a will tour America for two weeks.
Be prepared to hear songs you may never have heard before from all of their 9 albums. They were a lot more than Take on me.
Best ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
Also, I bought their first record at the Love Garden Blow Out Location for like, a dollar and it's really good! That song "The Sun Always Shines on TV" is the jam!
