The original field of eight was whittled down to four at the Bottleneck Friday night during the preliminary round of KJHK 90.7FM's Farmer's Ball.
The California Craisins, Cloud Dog, Dutch Newman, and Katlyn Conroy moved on to the finals Saturday night at the Jackpot.
When it was all said and done, the winner was Ms. Conroy, with her introspective indie. She walks away with prizes of paid recording time at Black Lodge Studio and shirts and buttons from Blue Collar Press.

ok anonymous you's a bitch that's cryin because he stole yo girl(and by girl i mean spot in the show). so go get your chocolate ice cream, chick flick, and binky and make it a night because if you are in a band and cryin like this that you didn't make it through (because you're obviously not good enough) than you must be a little kid cuz grown men don't complain about ONE show.
I really enjoyed the article. It proved to be Very helpful to me and I am sure to all the commentators here!
Dutch Newman played (er..hip-hopped?) first at about 9p and advanced to the final round. Going on at 1:30a because you drew to play last of 8 wasn't the best either. Esp when they let people vote and go home before you play. not that that happened to me or anything. ;)
Congrats to Katlyn Conroy and her wild and wooly friends. A very well deserving band indeed.
I'm really curious as to what the line-up was for the first night, because my hunch is that the people that made it to night to played last and the people who played closer to the ridiculous 8 PM starting time got fucked. Were u there? Do u kno?
