Since I announced earlier this month that I'd be leaving my post as music editor of The Pitch at the end of the year, I've gotten lots of questions, such as "Can I have your chair?" the answer to which is, "Packham already has dibs."
But most of the questions from outside the office have revolved around the following two categories.
I. Have you already found a replacement music editor?
As of this post, the search is still on, and we are likely to be fielding applicants throughout most of December. To apply, send a cover letter, resume and writing samples to C.J. Janovy, editor, The Pitch, 1701 Main St., KCMO 64108. You may also e-mail them to cj.janovy@pitch.com.
II. Where do I submit my music?
No matter who the music editor is, you can always submit physical copies of your albums, EPs, funniest home videos, sex tapes, etc, to attn: Music Editor, The Pitch, 1701 Main St., KCMO 64108.
If you prefer to go the digital route, you may e-mail a press release and/or download links to any of the following: Nick.Spacek@pitch.com (he's our music blogger, so you should be e-mailing him anyway), Crystal.Wiebe@pitch.com (she's the Buckle Bunny columnist; ditto), clubs editor Berry.Anderson@pitch.com and managing editor Scott.Wilson@pitch.com.
My e-mail will be working through the end of the month as well. When we've hired a new music editor, we'll make an announcement here with his or her contact info.
Keep rockin', and if you have any other questions, post them in the comments.

I'm super bummed that you're leaving. You really made a difference in your tenure. Thank you. Not leaving town, I hope?
Chris
Aw shucks, Chronic. I appreciate it, man.
I'll make sure that whoever comes next has his or her shit straight about local music, and if they falter, I'll expect cats like YOU to pick up the slack.
Harper,
I've been all ultra-busy over the past few weeks and haven't been keeping up with my regular reading... you're leaving?!?! That's a serious bummer for everyone in the local music scene.
Sorry to see you go. You're one of the only local writers with whom I can generally agree on musical content.
Best of luck in the freelance world! Your replacement will have some awfully big shoes to fill.
stay in touch!
That's sticking with me until the end, Justin. But you can have the framed white tiger poster Berry gave me for my birthday last year.
