Keeping with the Rankin-Bass theme set with yesterday's post, here's the Island of Misfit Toys sequence from the stop-motion duo's most famous release, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It's 35 years old this year, and first aired on NBC on December 6, 1964.
The New York Times did a stellar story a few years back on the rediscovery and restoration of the puppets used to make the film. I highly recommend reading it, and then watching the scene below.
