Fred Phelps: "God Hates Gaga"

Posted by on Mon, Jan 4, 2010 at 4:36 PM

Infamous Pastor Fred Phelps and his tribe of rabid evangelicals at the Topeka-based Westboro Baptist Church have set their sights on pop siren Lady Gaga.  Nationally known for their "God Hates Fags" placards (much to Kansas residents' horror), the WBC are publicly condemning the ultra-modern electro-glam star - and parodying her, to our intense delight.

The Westboro Baptist Church sermonizes: "However questionable they may be, Lady Gaga's talents were given to her by God; in return, she defies Him with all she does. This parody puts the truth to her 'Poker Face.'" So, in other words, Gaga should shut her playboy mouth.

Check out Megan Phelps-Roper's ridiculous version of Poker Face here.

@LadyGaga

While the Lady herself hasn't yet commented on WBC's antagonism, this may be another step up the ladder in Gaga's self-admitted quest for fame. Face it: nothing validates a pop icon's stardom like a crazed religious group chanting that God hates you (and your disco stick).

WBC will picket Gaga's performance at the Fox Theater in Saint Louis on Thursday, January 7, where thousands of kids wearing sequins will assault them with glitter and neon glowsticks.

Fred Phelps, you have been warned: toy not with the wrath of Gaga fans.
