Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) has a ridiculous name. That much is evident. I have no idea from where the band drew its moniker, but it certainly has all the hallmarks necessary to make the Onion's worst band name list next year.
The four-piece hails from Michigan and have a sound that falls nicely within the confines of classic indie and emo. They're touring in support of their split 7" with Football, Etc. on Count Your Lucky Stars. They've got a debut full-length, What It Takes To Move Forward, also on Count Your Lucky Stars.
They play the Salt Water Taffy House on January 8 with Emo Side Project and Ambulants.
