Wayward Blog is all videos today

Posted by Nick Spacek on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 8:30 AM

We're posting nothing but videos today. Why?

Well, the Supreme Court granted corporations the right to fund political campaigns without limit, thus removing from them all pretense of being anything other than glorified ad campaigns, bereft of any actual political discourse.

Then, the Department of Justice granted Live Nation and Ticketmaster their merger request. While Ticketmaster has to hand over their ticketing software to AEG to foster some sense of competition, nobody seems to think that it's a good idea -- an opinion best expressed by Sally Greenberg, executive director of the National Consumers League: "We remain concerned that these two companies, with a history of anti-consumer behavior, will abide only by the letter, and not the spirit of the settlement agreement."

So, today is your day to relax, watch a little video, and hope it takes your mind off the fact that the world is rapidly going to hell in a handbasket. We'll return tomorrow with snarky commentary and troll-baiting rhetoric, along with a new Throwback MP3 and Rock of Pages. But for the time being, ignore the Aquabats for once.
