True North hopes for Music Success in Nine Weeks

Local roots combo True North recently began an interesting undertaking. Ariel Hyatt (of Ariel Publicity) released a book entitled Music Success in Nine Weeks. After meeting with Hyatt at the Taxi Music Conference in November, the group was impressed enough to take on her book, and see if following the book would, in fact, grant them musical success. T

hey're charting progress at their Tumblr site, with each week summed up eruditely by band member Will Gladhart. He speaks not 100% for all of the band's members, but is instead endeavroing "to capture the ideology/ thoughts reflective of True North and the experiences working and playing with the True North guys for the past 4.5 years."

It's a good read, and both the book and the band's implementation of its ideals are covered in detail. There are scads of books that claim to be able to get your band to "that next level," but rarely do you hear anything other than anecdotal evidence as to their efficacy. Here's a chance to read and see how one of these publications will affect your band.
