News from the rumor mill: Lady Gaga, Green Day and the recently reunited Soundgarden are said to headline this year's Lollapalooza in Chi-town.

Epic rockers Arcade Fire (who headlined the festival in 2005) may be back to join the mix, too. The two-day event, slotted for August 6-8, generally announces the official line-up in April, but bloggers are already aflutter with speculations as to who the six headliners will be. Apart from the trio speculated above, three other headlining acts remain a mystery.

The Chicago Tribune's Greg Kot goes on the record:

The Tribune has learned from its own sources that negotiations are

progressing with Arcade Fire and the Strokes. The Lollapalooza lineup

also will include several coveted rising bands, including Yeasayer, the

xx, and Dirty Projectors, as well as veteran dance-oriented acts Cut

Copy and Hot Chip, sources have confirmed.

We'll keep our ear to the ground, but in the meantime, here's a list of other headliners for upcoming festivals that Flavorwire has compiled:
Coachella 2010 (April 16 -18) - Jay-Z, Muse, and Gorillaz
Sasquatch 2010 (May 29 - 31) - Pavement
Bonnaroo 2010 (June 10 -13) - Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews Band, and Kings of Leon
Pitchfork Music Festival 2010 (July 16 - 18) - Pavement, Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem, and Raekwon
Rock the Bells 2010 - TBD
All Points West Festival 2010 - TBD
ATP New York 2010 (September 3 - 5) - Curated by Jim Jarmusch; Iggy & the Stooges, The Breeders, Sonic Youth, Raekwon

Lady Gaga is for youngsters and teens brainwashed by videoclips and the mass media. If you go to her concerts you will encounter exclusively children. Its not for mature people. She has got a fine voice and she can play the piano only the music is really crap, euro trash, horrible, you hardly need a click of the mouse to pen that.

I'm not a sexually confused 15 year old Abe. Green Day and Gaga sound like two very relevant headliners to me. The thing people forget when speaking about what music is "good", is the fact that people have different tastes. The more you try to sound like a snobby expert, the more you sound like someone who is growing old.

I'd have to say Coachella is the best so far. Pavement, Gorillaz, Faith no more, The Crooked Vultures, MGMT and a bunch of the same supporting casts as the other fests.

Gaga and Green Day to headline? I'm not a sexual confused 15 year old, thank you.
