Tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 p.m., Andy McKee will make an in-store appearance at Lawrence's Mass Street Music. In addition to a performance, McKee will be giving a clinic and meet-and-greet.
Topeka native McKee's specialty is fingerstyle guitar playing, which he gained international fame for through videos posted to YouTube. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.
All proceeds will go to the Americana Music Academy, located just a few doors south from Mass Street Music, a non-profit school dedicated to providing lessons to everyone, regardless of financial status (full disclosure: my eldest son received mandolin lessons at Americana for several years, courtesy of the Douglas County ARC). In addition to the meet-and-greet, clinic, and performance, there will be giveaways from D'Addarrio and Yamaha.
