Nic-Rel feat. Les Izmore: "Invisible Men," "Welcome to KC"

Posted by Kyle Koch on Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 2:32 PM

This weekend, Les Izmore of Hearts of Darkness was kind enough to forward "Invisible Men," a gangster-meets-political track featuring himself and Nic-Rel, a fellow Kansas City MC. The two pay lyrical homage to Ralph Ellison's epic novel over a ghoulish, looping beat. Izmore unleashes his verse like an electric guitar, an untamed, high-octave antidote to Nic-Rel's densely polished wordplay. "My skin is dark / so I have to be twice as smart," Nic-Rel tells listeners over the ominous backdrop. Click here to download the track.

Less serious is "Welcome to Kansas City," Nic-Rel's rollicking welcome tour of Killa City off his new album Black Art.
