Scene & Heard: Leslie Kay

Scene & Heard -- wherein local music scene makers give you the lowdown on the soundtrack to their lives.

In addition to being the booker for Lawrence's Replay Lounge, Leslie Kay is a fantastic artist whose work we've featured here on Wayward Blog. You can get her arts and goods at her MySpace page (including the amazing "Lawrence fucking Kansas" t-shirts, buttons, and baby onesies).

Kay has an interesting explanation for the songs she's picked to share in this debut installment of Scene & Heard:

"I don't know that I can tell you why, but here are the songs I currently listen to twice when I play the rest of the record once. I hope you can still use these without a proper explanation for each. If you've heard them, they probably speak for themselves."

She also recommends "Dune" by the Ants, but I'm pretty much at a loss to find it listenable anywhere.
