Lately, it seems that hip hop is finally moving to venue more suited to actual concerts. It used to be that if someone like 50 Cent would come through, they'd be stuck playing a dance club or some other venue totally unsuited to watching a live performance.
Well, it only took, what, 30 years for concert promoters to finally treat hip hop like every other kind of music and finally put it in a real venue? Better than nothing, I suppose.
50 Cent will bring the club to the Midland on Thursday, June 10. Support has yet to be officially announced, but according to his forum, opening acts for "the Invitation Tour" are supposed to be Lloyd Banks, Monica, and Soulja Boy. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m.
