Fruit Bats

Posted by on Fri, May 14, 2010 at 11:26 AM

Chicago's Fruit Bats were part of the crashing wave of folk-rock in the early aughts. Fruit Bats, the brainchild of Eric D. Johnson (who joined the Shins last year), caught ears with the warmly-received Spelled in Bones in 2005, and followed with The Ruminant Band in 2009. The band's earnest charm is perfectly fitting for a summer soundtrack (or a Michael Cera movie -- Fruit Bats' "When U Love Somebody" is prominently featured on the Youth in Revolt soundtrack). Check out these bowtie-wearing band boys in the video below. They're hitting up the Jackpot on August 25.
