Also currently streaming on that site is the new Ratatat, LP4. Out on XL recordings, it was recorded during the same sessions as its predecessor, LP3, and sounds like a natural extension of it. It's all instrumental and driven by that screeching laser-guitar sound that's become the New York duo's trademark. Whether any of the songs are as good as their collaborations with Kid Cudi last year is your call.

New Xtina! Where does she fit into a post-Gaga world? That's the real question of the day. She did okay at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, performing a medley of songs from her new album, Bionic. It concluded with the camera zooming in on a close-up of her crotch, where a pink electronic heart was flashing on and off -- I guess because she is a woman and empowered or something? It will be interesting to see what kind of sales Bionic generates, and how the club hits stack up against Gaga's. Well, interesting for some of us.

new Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and Suckers albums are out today as well. I think both are pretty great.

New Off With Their Heads, "In Desolation."

It's honest-to-goodness punk rock on Epitaph again. A reason to celebrate, if ever there was one. I actually waited until the damn thing came out to get it.

Also released today are vinyl reissues of Failure's Fantastic Planet and Refused's Shape of Punk to Come.

It's like 1998 all over again and I love it.
