Not a bad day for new music. A few highlights from the mainstream:
It's been a minute since the last
Pernice Brothers album, 2006's
Live a Little. In the meantime, Joe Pernice wrote a novel,
It Feels So Good When I Stop, and recorded a "soundtrack" album of covers -- bringing his dreamy, alt-pop sound to songs by bands like Plush, Dream Syndicate, Sebadoh, and Del Shannon -- to accompany the book. Pernice Brothers proper are back as of today, and you can stream the new album,
Goodbye, Killer, out on Ashmont Records,
at Spinner.

Also out today is the new
Gaslight Anthem,
American Slang. But
we've already talked about that. And the new
Tom Petty album,
Mojo, which is his first with the Heartbreakers in eight years, is in stores and online. Both are streamable
at Spinner.
What else?
