Crossroads KC at Grinders has made a few strong late additions to its outdoor summer concert series this week.

The Avett Brothers are playing the venue Saturday, September 25, with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, who were just there just last night. The Avett Bros.' pop-inflected folk and bluegrass sound has of late been replaced by piano ballads, which is either a good or bad thing depending on where you're sitting. Its latest is called I and Love and You, and that is a disgusting thing to name an album no matter where you're sitting. The band still has some great songs, though, and excellent voices, and they are so cute, too.

And Girl Talk is here Friday, September 10. A big, sweaty mash-up party will be a nice way to start winding down the summer.

Both shows are on sale as of today.
