Hazy garage-rock outfit the Conquerors is one of my local faves, and since it is a slow news day, I am here to report that they just uploaded two songs to their way-dormant Myspace page. I heard about the Myspace songs because I'm a Facebook fan of the band. Here in the biz, we call that a Face-to-Space assist. Social media baby! It works!
One's a swaggering, standard-issue jangler in the mold of the Sonics. The other is an ominous, acoustic-based droner that sounds like the scene in the movie where the guy's acid trip turns bad. Both are over six minutes, and worth a listen. But you really need to see these guys live to get the full experience. Speaking of which, they've got a Facebook post asking for help booking dates for a fall tour through the Midwest and the South, if you know anybody in the know.
