This news is going to make lots of Kansas City scenesters very, very happy indeed. Ultimate Fakebook -- one of Kansas City's more well-loved almost-famous bands of the early aughts -- just dropped the band's first album since 2003, called Daydream Radio Is Smiling Static

Ultimate Fakebook has played a couple hella packed local reunion shows in recent years -- including one benefiting JayDoc last year at the Uptown -- but the power pop-punk band has remained largely silent for the last seven years. Until now. (Ominous drums!)
