In case you've been living under some sort of social-media-free rock, the Pitch is putting on a local music showcase of mammoth proportions on August 5 called the Pitch Music Showcase, and you best be there. We've got 35-plus bands and DJs descending upon Westport, and you can catch as many as physically possible for the low price of six bucks.
Check the lineup -- if you haven't already -- so you can map out what killer local bands you want to spend your Thursday night boozing with.
We've got the lineup after the jump.

"Sponsor area"? Is this the street in front of McCoy's? Is this an area for anonymous/surprise sponsors or just the worst name ever for a special Pitch stage? Thanks for all the info. Geez.
This is the old lineup. For some reason it doesn't mention that the updates are listed elsewhere one by one.
Wow, I have spent as much time trying to figure out where bands are playing as I intended to spend watching them. Awesome.
To ABE:
Queen's Club dudes deserve where they're at for all they've been through and their hard work. Talking shit on them is like talking shit on your own dick. Margo May is a sweetheart and should never be picked on. That's like slapping you're own grandma. Dutch Newman deserves to shine! If you don't like it Abe, and you're just jealous, start your own damn band. Otherwise, stop being a fucking faggot!
People need to quit complaining about the selection this year. Either start a band or stfu.
The calamity cubes! White ghost shivers and kc bear fighters at daveys uptown thursday night! White ghost shivers are from austin, they're badass and the calamity cubes and kc bear fighters are nominees so that makes it a pitch awards showcase!
I cannot remember a lamer time for the KC music scene. Pretty sad.
DJ G Train is now doing, a 2 hour set. Due to some scheduling issues with other artist. 10pm til 12pm on the Riot Room Patio.

Hopefully some of these venues will have SHAKERS Vodka on hand. Looking forward to being there.
Hipshot Killer is amazing, but Thursday nights don't really work for me... Too late to change?
Some real ho-hum choices Pitch. Queens Club is about as cool as playing Scrabble with your Grandma on a Saturday night. Margo May proves that all you need to be a successful hipster is a guitar and some old Cat Power records. Dutch Newman is a tool. And the only people that like Federation of Horsepower are people who think Johnny Dare is some sort of demigod.
