The local jazz ensemble is releasing its newest record, Pools That Swell With Rain, on September 24 at the Folly Theater.

For the band's last performance before the CD release concert, they're giving away one pair of tickets to the release concert at their performances at Jardine's.

Details after the jump.

Here's what the Barclay Martin Ensemble has to say about its forthcoming release:

This record represents a culmination of years of study, practice, writing and love of making music together. It is a departure stylistically from our previous releases, perhaps a deeper understanding after years of playing together. It is at the same time the beginning of an inspiring new partnership with water.org as we work together to bring water, educational programs and sanitation to the Kyuso District of Kenya. We'll be bringing you updates and information about the community and progress as we travel together. We'd love you to join us.

The band is performing at Jardine's on Tuesday, August 17, at 6:00 and 8:30 PM. Reservations are recommended, and there's a five dollar cover. It's the last chance to catch the band before its CD release at the Folly on September 24.

You can find the band's new previewed track on the band's Facebook page, here.
