We're honoring Kansas City talent on Sunday night at the Uptown Theater in our annual Pitch Music Awards Ceremony. (Buy tickets here, for six bucks.) We've got Bleach Bloodz, the Dead Girls, the Grisly Hand and Mark Lowrey with Diverse and Reach performing covers of classic Kansas City acts. (Think the Get Up Kids, Howard Iceberg and the Titanics, Charlie Parker and Creature Comforts, to name a few.)
Plus, you'll be able to finally find out who won those Pitch Music Awards we've been gabbing about for the last month.
Check the schedule for the event after the jump.

I have to agree with Chris. VERY unorganized this year. No real notification that my band was nominated and it took so long trying to Google when the awards actually freakin' were, I just gave up. It wasn't until the day of I heard they were going on. I didn't go because I had made other plans.
I thought the Pitch did just fine keeping everybody informed, on our end anyways. We are excited to be nominated !!! oh wait, we are not friends with anybody in the Pitch :( awww no win.
Still honoured to join the All Star elite. Much Kansas love for ye.
is the Hip Hop category announcement being paired or announced with Rap??? and do nominees have to pay to get in? Curious, thanks for all your work dealing with this event, PITCH!
Hey Chris,
Our marketing department usually does a pretty awesome job staying in touch with nominees for the Showcase and the Awards Ceremony.
This year, we have 22 categories with an average of six nominees. That's a lot of people to stay in touch with.
Trying to hit up each band for the PMA supplement took six hardworking freelancers; unfortunately, running a paper on top of getting in touch with everyone all over again to remind them about the Showcase and Awards Ceremony is a tough demand.
We've been publicizing the bejesus out of this event in the paper, and on the blog, too, so hopefully it hasn't gone completely under the radar. Of course, we don't mean to slight anyone -- hell, we nominated you guys because we think you're talented.
The process is a work in progress; is there something that we can do next year to make it run more smoothly on your end? I'm always down to hear suggestions -- you can email me, if you'd like: Elke.Mermis@Pitch.com.
Hi. I'm in a nominated act (Tiny Horse). I have to say, I'm sort of amazed that there has been no contact whatsoever with us regarding the awards show in two days-and by the way nobody contacted us to inquire about playing the showcase either until after someone else had cancelled...
I was starting to feel slighted until I talked to some friends in another nominated act that ALSO had not been contacted.
c'mon guys. It's a party. It's not that hard to contact the nominees regarding either the showcase or the awards show in a timely manner. Did you put an intern in charge or what?
