Life without cable TV has introduced me to Prince Poppycock.
The 'Cock, in all his sequined, whitefaced glory will be coming to the Midland on October 15th as a part of America's Got Talent Live.
The event, hosted by Jerry Springer, will also feature Anna & Patryk, the 12-year-old ballroom dancers, black light performance group Fighting Gravity and 10-year-old opera singer, Jackie Evancho, who according to a recent facebook post, brought tears to the eyes of RecordBar owner, Steve Tulipana.
Prince Poppycock (real name: John Andrew Quale) created his dandy-yet-hella-fuckin'-creepy persona in 2006 and since then has opened for the Dresden Dolls and the Sounds. He's also written a civil rights anthem called "Rise Up and Shout" for a documentary of the same name about gay artists in L.A.
True Poppycock fans can contribute to his costume-making fund via PayPal.
Those who watch America's Got Talent on Wednesday nights know that Sharon Osbourne really gets a tingle in her knickers when Prince Poppycock performs. See what you think after this patriotic number.
