  • Blood brothers.
Influential post-punk act Gang of Four opportunistically reunited in 2004, shortly after every new band in the entire world started writing Gang of Four knockoffs and name-checking them as a major influence.

On January 25, 2011, GO4 -- which is currently singer Jon King and guitarist Andy Gill, plus replacements on drums and bass -- will release Content, its first LP of new material in 16 years, on Yep Roc. The album was paid for via Pledge Music, a fundraising site through which GO4 fans bought helicopter rides and vials of blood of band members.

More info about that project here. (Still available: Andy Gill will mix your track for 1500 pounds, which I think is about $2,400!)

Along these same lines, Content will be available on vinyl and CD, but you can also purchase the "Ultimate Content Can," which includes "the CD, a book version of an art piece Jon and Andy have done on ceramic tiles depicting the last 40 years of world history, a book of lyrics, a book of Rotoscoped photographs of the band's emotions, phials [sic] of band members' blood, and a scratch-and-sniff booklet which reflects the key areas of human activity." God knows what most of that means, but it has the Wayward's full support.
