Back in August, Wayward reported on local jazz legend Bobby Watson's latest, The Gates BBQ Suite, a seven-part composition released in September.

We're not the only ones who've taken note of Watson's activities. Last week, the Wall Street Journal -- you know, the newspaper with the highest circulation in the country -- wrote a fairly extensive piece on Mr. Watson. Check it out.

The Journal calls the album "an outstanding new big band album," saying it "shows that [Watson] is as much a stylistic heir to the great Benny Carter as he is to such Kansas City forebears as Charlie Parker."

Read the whole thing here. Hat tip to Harper, whose ghost still lingers.
