Both Blitzen Trapper and Fruit Bats make sunny, 70s AM-tinged folk-rock. Likewise, both Blitzen Trapper and Fruit Bats have made stops in Kansas City in the last six months. (Blitzen Trapper were at the RecordBar with the Moondoggies in June, and Fruit Bats hit up the Jackpot in late August.) And both shows were excellent.
Here's why.

ps, individual also goes by Jake Mcsurdy...
This is awesome! I'm totally getting slagged on a whole different topic.
To give you some context, there was a type of video singing contest, I was a judge, I watched some videos and judged the singers, along with two other people. We all chose the top contestant unanimously and completely indipendent of each other...I have never before or since met the other judges. Our votes were complied by someone completely different.
This person FB's me, accuses me of some kind of cheat in this totally innocent promotional contest.
The person left out "I don't know you," in his quote of me.
So I've been chronicling this tiny saga on my blog where I talk about the contest and EVEN talk about HOW I'll judge the competition, not that anybody read it, but there it is, in glorious Nathan Granner color.
There is no controversy but for this one person who is morphing onto different websites and writes this insipid diatribe.
Love it.
Blessings
Nathan

106.5 the Wolf sponsored a local singing competition and its obvious to all the listeners and other contestants that something went terribly wrong. In addition to the controversy it has been discovered after being asked in a Email message that judge "Nathan Granner" would not admit to voting for her and said in response "...I have given my judgement. They are accurate." implying he did not choose the winner. Many are crying foul as should be because of an obvious injustice in the selection process. I have had no response from the other judges as of yet but would hope to think they will be honest and expose this fiasco.
