He's an entertainer, philanthropist and has shared stages with Elton John, Reba McEntire and Beyonce. He's also a musical prodigy who wrote a song for Muhammed Ali and starred in his own PBS concert special.
Clips of the PBS' Musical Time Machine were slightly awkward to watch (i.e. his covers of "Let it Be" and "Good Golly, Miss Molly"). However, he won me over with this completely precious interview with Quincy Jones.
It's been four years but American Catastrophe is going to make us wait a little longer.
To tide you over until the full-length is finished, the four-piece fronted by Shaun Hamontree and Amy Farrand will release a 10" single on Friday, November 11 at Davey's. Two songs, "Six Feet Whisper" and "Sweet Rabid Dog" will be included as well as a download code for the chumps without turntables.
