Matt Costa is better known as the songwriter behind "Mr. Pitiful," which wormed itself into peoples' brain for three months in 2008 thanks to various commercials and movies. His latest album, Mobile Chateau, is reportedly a "bold step forward into the kaleidoscopic beyond," according to a press release. Costa is mining his longtime love for '60s psychedelic superheroes like Donovan, 13th

Floor Elevators, the Zombies, the Electric Prunes, and the West Coast

Pop Art Experimental Band. He's at the Bottleneck on Monday, November 15.

I saw that he is playing a free Jack Daniel's show in Jacksonville, FL on Dec. 2. Signed up for tickets at jdstudiono7.com - might try to drive down to see him. Would be a fun road trip Otherwise, hopefully he'll do more free shows in this area soon.

Redding/Cropper, to be precise. If he's into all of those other sixties acts, he surely knows this.
