The cover is at least somewhat modest.
By now you probably know that Pitchfork gave Kanye West's new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, a perfect 10.0 rating this morning. For music dorks keeping track, the last time Pitchfork gave a new, non-reissued album a perfect 10 was 2002, for Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Today's 'Ye review is 12 paragraphs long.
Also! By coincidence -- or totally NOT a coincidence, if you are a conspiracy theorist -- Amazon is giving away Fantasy for $3.99 today. Roughly four dollars!
I just downloaded it, and it sounds pretty good. You can do so yourself by pressing in this spot right here. There's no way it will be able to meet the expectations Pitchfork has set, but I like their play on this one -- it's a pretty ballsy move for that site to say the new 'Ye is better than Merriweather Post Pavilion. More importantly, we're all talking about it.
