It's little surprise, then, that
Record Machine honcho
Nathan Reusch promptly scooped them up and folded them into his Kansas City music empire this past summer. They've been busy readying a 7" EP, and it's out now on Record Machine, sort of.
Basically, if you pre-order the vinyl -- they've pressed 100 red copies and 200 black copies -- you won't get it until January 18. But in the meantime, they'll send you mp3s of the six songs.
I'm listening to the EP right now. I've tended to think of Lazy as more or less a garage act, but there's a healthy variety to this thing, albeit in a simple, pared-down kind of way. There's some Nuggets, sure, but also some Velvet Underground jangle, some post-punk chiming guitars, and maybe even a little Hole action. I like them better after hearing it.
Order
here. If you just want the mp3s, you can get those for $2.00, which comes to a ridiculously reasonable twenty cents per song.
