Fourth of July's early-'90s home-movie video for 'Friend of a Friend'

  • Fourth of July.
In a box somewhere in my parents' basement, there is footage of me wearing sunglasses, holding a tennis racket like a guitar, and pretending to perform "The Letter" by the Box Tops at some family gathering in the late 1980s. The thought of someone seeing that video makes me legitimately anxious.

Two of the Hangauer brothers in Fourth of July, Brendan and Patrick, possess similar footage, but apparently much less anxiety about it, because they've incorporated it into their video for "Friend of a Friend." It's hilarious.

According to their older brother Zach (who runs Range Life Records), Brendan is the one singing and doing slithery dance moves, and Patrick is on guitar. (Patrick also made the video.)
