We here at the Wayward Blog dig free things. And we really like it when those free things are shows. The Record Machine, Kansas City's record label, has started hosting free shows at Westport's newest bar, the Union.
Friday night, garage-wave rockers Lazy set up shop in the Union's basement, filling the entire bar with smoke and rock and roll. To kick off their night, the band took turns at the turntable, playing each song at a slowed-down pace and making everyone feel much drunker than they actually were.
After their set, Record Machine owner Nathan Reusch hosted a DJ set full of dancing fun. Reusch said the event will become a recurring monthly affair and will feature a different band from the Record Machine's lineup each time. Check out their website for more information.
