George Watsky, a rapper who spits rhymes faster than Speed Racer drives, is burning up web traffic with more than 135,000 hits in one day thanks to a hot post on Reddit.Originally raised in San Francisco and currently based in LA, 23-year-old Watsky, now known to the Internet as "Pale Kid Raps Fast," was originally discovered on the sixth season of 'Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry' and crowned the 2006 Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Champion.
Of course, we've got our own pale champion of speed verse in Kansas City: Mac Lethal. And he's taking Watsky on.

as far as mac's rap skills go, yea meh, maybe better. i also like how he puts down hard drugs and reps the green. but lyrically, he used alot (too much IMO) of watsky's lyrics, and some of the same shit in both of those videos....just not original, like he made the videos 5 minutes after thinking-up his ideas without really thinking about it. watsky's shit tells about him, you get to know him from watching his videos, his words have a voice of their own. both great artists id say, but its no question we'll be seeing alot more of watsky's videos going viral then this mac guy.
So in order to be a good lyricist you have to rap about politics? That's laughable at best. Their styles are completely different. Who wants to listen to a host of people rapping about the same shit? That would make your music selection pretty fucking monotonous

i know for a fact no matter what "clean political positive raps"[that has a history of selling massive amounts of records also] the first guy does at poetry slams, mac could come clean and explode pasty 1's head open.didnt know he could go that fast though.
Being faster doesn't really make you better, still skeptical of how Mac could rap that fast.
Watsky is a better musician though, he creates his own music and doesn't change the lyrics of another song to create his own. Watsky is also an awesome clean rapper (something you don't see often) Overall Watsky is a better musician.
Especially when Mac says he will "go to war" over which BBQ in KC is better? Talk about all fight and no substance.

I think george win's because he wrote his own beat/song/etc and mac just kind of FILKed. Also, george had the expressions and etc that just made it work. Talking fast isn't cool if your just doing it for the sake of talking fast...
You are right this is not a competition. That being said, Mac is a weak copy of Sage Francis. What I do not get is that Sage actually seems to like him. Mac Lethal is to Sage Francis as Coldplay is to Radiohead...

You all have to understand that speed is not everything. Mac may rap faster in a couple places but Watsky's rhymes are much more complex and creative. Watsky's speed only adds to his abilities. Mac is good, really good. But I think based on what we've seen so far, Watsky is better.
On the original one in the green hat, you can tell it's fake. The thought bubble over the shower states that there is a girl in the shower, listening to music, but you can't hear water running or music playing. That or he's lying about having a girl in the shower, which is pretty pathetic. Who does that? Also, at the end when he laughs, there's no audible laugh. He obviously pre-recorded the audio and lip-synched.
The new one is sped up. There is a point in the vid, around the 50 second mark, where the time speeds up for a few seconds. If you check the youtube timer when he starts his timer, the seconds are off. Time doesn't match up.

In his video (Mac's) there was a picture of nude female breast, thus youtube took it down. For all of the skeptics he's posted another with a stopwatch. I doubt he's trying to steal anyone's thunder, he's just having fun.
Looks like they took it down after everyone farther down the list realized it was sped up. He's not beating George Watsky.
It's faked. Take a close look at his movements and the fact that he barely breaths. Rapping at high speeds and fairly loudly requires a lot of breathing, especially at the speeds he was going. The music was added later for sure. Every single professional singer/rapper adds their music later. That way you can cut up your audio how you see fit, this was sped up no doubt about it. I've heard Mac Lethal rap, there's no way he raps that fast without any sort of audio engineering speeding up his performance. On top of that, his lyrics are extremely profane. A lot of people can rap with profanity. His whole routine was copied from Watsky and simply altered in a few ways. Watsky's lyrics were brilliant, they weren't profane, and he actually can rap fast. He has other live performances at the Kennedy Center, he was featured on Russel Simmons Def Poetry. And: "He was the 2006 Youth Speaks Grand Slam Poetry Champion, 2006 Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Champion, and performed in a record six consecutive Youth Speaks Grand Slam Finals. The last three of those audiences, all topping out at over 3,000, were the largest ever for poetry slams anywhere in the world. In 2009 Watsky was one of three poets who performed live on FOX at the NAACP Image Awards in honor of Russell Simmons’ lifetime achievement award."
So yes, Watsky is better, by far. He doesn't rap about drugs, alcohol, or money. Instead, he writes beautiful poetry about the environment and basically any topic you throw at him. His words actually mean something. He's a master of the English language. Mac Lethal? Get out of here.

uh no you need to think harder- the music could have been slowed down for his performance, and then returned to its original speed- thus speeding up his lyrics. not that I think there is any evidence of that happening, and both guys are ridiculously talented. But I am more commenting on the irony of you telling someone to think harder.
think about it. if the music was added afterwords or not it's still the exact same speed as the other one. no matter how you cut it the vocals are real. it would be impossible to fake that. you cant just create vocals like that digitally. digitally manipulated vocals are always very very obvious
The music could've easily been added afterward. His pitch raises, which could indicate the track being sped-up.. or just the strain of rapping so damned fast.

Mac's faster, sure (sounds sped-up, but I could be wrong), but he's just not as entertaining. Voice + expressions on the goofy kid sold it for me.
If the video was sped up the sound would be sped up too. And it's not. Think harder!
I don't understand why this has to be a competition I love the music both of these guys make. I own everything Mac has ever put out except for Love Potion 3 and I own the only album Watsky has put out. They both have their very own styles of hip-hop, and besides putting stuff up like this makes it look like Mac is trying to steal Watsky's thunder. Which I'm sure that's not what he was trying to do, and its not like he needs it.
