You may not recognize the name Willie Waldman, but to popular artists who have the pleasure of listing Waldman in their liner notes, the trumpet player from California is a bit of a legend. Waldman has worked with Perry Farrell, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur and appeared on soundtracks for Tombstone and 101 Dalmations.
This Saturday, Waldman will take over the Jardine's stage with some of Kansas City's own local legends for a genre-bending affair. Mark Lowrey -- fresh off the plane from his work in Mali, Africa -- will be on the keys; Eric Gould of Particle will be holding down the bass rhythms; and Brandon Draper, drummer for Quixotic Fusion, will be representing on the skins and loops. The show starts at 10:30 p.m. and costs $10. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling Jardine's at 816-561-6480.
