As we mentioned back in November, Americana folk hero Josh Ritter will be hitting the Liberty Hall stage in Lawrence next week. Ritter's latest album, So Runs the World Away, has garnered critical acclaim and seen an impressive amount of television and movie soundtrack time. He's also reissuing his 2006 album, The Animal Years, on vinyl three days before the Liberty Hall show. The rerelease includes an acoustic CD version of the album plus B-sides and music videos.
In tow for the show are his long-standing bandmates, The Royal City Band, and special guest Scott Hutchinson, lead singer of the Scottish rock band Frightened Rabbit (whose album The Winter of Mixed Drinks was on my personal "Top 10 Albums of 2010" list).
Ritter is also a budding writer and will be releasing his first novel
this summer. The man of many talents hits Lawrence Friday, February 18,
at Liberty Hall. Tickets are $19.50 in advance and $21 the day of the
show. Get yourself pumped for the folk-rock fest by snagging a free download of a
Wallpaper remix of his song, "The Remnant," here.

Sweet heads up, kentuckychrome! Thanks! I looked it up, here's a link to him performing the song "Lawrence, KS", for anyone that's interested. As someone who is a born and raised Lawrencian, that's pretty awesome.
