The Metalliance Tour is coming to KC (specifically, Merriam), but it appears that the headliner, Helmet, will skip out on the March 28 date at Aftershock.
I am still awaiting a reply as to why the feedback-heavy, "thinking person's metal band" is choosing KC as the only city it won't perform in. I'll keep you hardcore motherfuckers updated.
However, those who are willing to kick down $17 and drive out to the edge of Johnson County will be entertained by doom metal band Saint Vitus; NOLA sludge metal band Crowbar; Portland's Red Fang Kylesa, the Atlas Moth and Howl.
If you could handle all that sludgy shit, plus Helmet, then you are a champ, and I apologize for your loss. I will leave you with this footage of Helmet recording last year's Seeing Eye Dog.
