Guy Fieri -- the spiky-haired food dude from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives -- is an unabashed fan of Kansas City. (So far, the Food Network star has hit up Mama's 39th Street Diner, Grinders, Happy Gillis, the Brick, and a whole bunch more. For a full list, click here.)
Normally, this would be fare strictly for our food blog, Fat City. But, as you can tell by the cherry-red '67 Camaro that Fieri drives between joints, he probably digs a little rock and roll. That's why he's bringing a cooking -- and rock -- stage show to the Midland in May.
Here's what the press release says:
Set to arrive at the Midland by AMC in Kansas City on May 30, the Guy Fieri Food Tour presented by the National Pork Board will mix the best elements of a live cooking show, the fun of a variety revue, and the non-stop adrenaline rush of a rock concert.
Fieri will take center stage with an unscripted and wildly entertaining performance --complete with interactive cooking stations, secret tips and dishes from his forthcoming cookbook (Guy Fieri Food, due May 3), as well as behind-the-scenes stories from the road, and much more.
Weird, huh? Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 11, at 10 a.m. For all you foodies who are big fans of Fieri, there are special packages available:
A limited number of VIP tickets will be available in two package levels for the tour. The "Off Da Hook" Package includes premium onstage seating; a chance to sample the food prepared by Fieri; tour laminate; a copy of Fieri's upcoming book, Guy Fieri Food; a pre-show meet and greet with Fieri (must be age 21 or older to purchase this package); and more. The "Kulinary Krew" Package includes prime orchestra seating; tour laminate; a copy of Guy Fieri Food; a pre-show meet and greet with Fieri, and more.
