Owl City sings about toothbrushes, fireflies live at the Uptown in July

Everyone knows that Owl City -- that's Adam Young -- really likes to sing about fireflies and teardrops and how his dreams are bursting at the seams and ... stuff. But did you know that he also likes to sing about the dentist? A quote from my review of Owl City's tour kickoff show last winter at the Beaumont: "I've been to the dentist a thousand times, so I know the drill, sings Owl City frontman Adam Young, miming brushing his choppers before he lobs his toothbrush into the shrieking crowd." Really.

Then again, Owl City's new full-length album, All Things Bright and Beautiful, comes out on May 17. Maybe he'll have a whole new host of tunes to emote to by the time he stops by the Uptown on July 11.

Jesus, that's just pathetic. This is what passes for alternative music these days?
