I've been hankering for Rooftop Vigilantes' second LP, Real Pony Glue, ever since I fell in love with their debut, Carrot Atlas, and caught wind that the sophomore album was in some weird kinda limbo. It's unfortunate, because many of the new tunes, played live, sound fucking great -- tighter, leaner, more altogether whole. Well, while we wait for the now fabled RLG to descend from the clouds, there are a few shiny new songs to tide us over.
Reverb, an offshoot of The Denver Post, nabbed the Lawrence "danger pop" outfit while they toured out west for an in-studio, and the results are three impeccable, short blasts of what makes the Rooftops so great: spastic energy, piercing Farfisa, and a manic rhythm section.
Check it out here.
