Matt Dunehoo may have moved on from his former Kansas City project, Doris Henson, a while ago; but we here at Wayward like to keep tabs on what our favorite formerly local musicians are up to these days. Dunehoo's new band, Baby Teardrops, is nominated in an online poll to be the next New York City artist of the month by indie-music mag The Deli. Based out of Brooklyn, the grunge-pop trio also includes Megan Thomas on bass and Gerry White on drums.
Set to release their debut album X Is for Love on April 12, Baby Teardrops could certainly use the media support from The Deli's poll -- and you can help them out with your vote.
Most recently, Dunehoo and the Teardrops rolled through town in support of the MidCoast Takeover showcase that went down at SXSW this year, proving that Dunehoo hasn't forgotten his hometown roots. Of course, we're only suggesting that you help them out. Check out their video for "Smooth Sailing Ahead," directed by Serg Soza and filmed at The Local 269, the Lower East Side bar where White works, posted below -- and decide for yourself.
