It's festival season: here are your headliners for 80/35, Wakarusa, Norman Music Festival, LouFest and Winfield

Wakarusa, 80/35, Winfield, LouFest and Norman Music Festival are all festivals that are within reach, if you're willing to fork over a little cash for gas and a day behind the wheel. (For example: If you're not so keen on KQRC 98.9's Rockfest on May 14, you can also hit up Rocklahoma May 27-29, where headliners include Staind, Motley Crue, Poison, Papa Roach, Whitesnake, Hinder, Seether, and more.)

The fest: 80/35

The place: Des Moines, Iowa

The dates: July 2 and 3

The distance: 193 miles; about 3-1/2 hours of driving time.

$45 for two days, $25 for one day, and $125 for VIP. Once advance tickets sell out,

prices will jump to $60 for two days, $35 for one day, and $150 for VIP. Day of

The fest: Wakarusa

The place: Ozark, Arkansas 

The dates: June 2-5

The distance: 304 miles; about 5 hours of driving time.

The place: Norman, Oklahoma

The dates: April 28-30

The distance: 371 miles; about 6-1/2 hours of driving time.

Let me get this straight--- The Norman Music Festival organizers couldnt get The Flaming Lips to play their festival?? Last I heard , The Flaming Lips lived right in Norman Oklahoma!!!

And I generally love they sorts of bands that play festivals, but do not care for festivals.
