Is Maroon 5 and Train the worst concert announcement of the summer so far?

Spotlight is on you, Kansas City: What do you think is the worst concert announcement of the year so far?

Of course, we have to be honest: The recent press release that we received about a double bill between Maroon 5 and Train on September 4 at Starlight was the inspiration for this post. (Gavin DeGraw and Matt Nathanson are opening.)

But don't let us influence your opinion. Tell us in the comments: What's the show that you wouldn't be caught dead at this summer?

Train and Maroon 5 will be the BEST concert of the summer.  Not sure why they are stopping in KC, but maybe they are hoping people in the midwest can gain some level of culture.

Your are correct----A Jimmy Buffet show would be absolutely painful. Not so much because of him , but more so the audience!!

You're right that Rockfest should probably get the nod, but they bring the same kind of cookie-cutter hard rock/nu metal bands every year (i.e., could be picked every year). So in the interest of originality, I'll go with the American Idol Live Tour in August at the Sprint Center.

Definitely Jimmy Buffet. It's like a convention for brain-damaged yuppie nerds.

For as long as Jimmy Buffett draws breath, the best that ANY other musical act can do on the "would rather rather pack my ears in iguana shit and light them on fire" list will be a distant, distant second.

This may seem an easy target, but...

The most inexplicable concert of the year is the New Kids/Backstreet tour. I don't understand why one person would be nostalgic for truly awful, superficial music, much less an arena full of people, much less as sung by 40-year-olds.

All that aside, P&L will be a MILF hunter's DREAM that night.

Every single Hipster that talks shit on Kanrocksas will most definitely be in attendance. Give it up, pretentious art school kids, it's actually a pretty decent lineup, save for Eminem, for a first timer festival in the middle of the country.

Assuming Rockfest is already a given for worst concert of the year, either 311/Sublime or Kesha has my vote for close second. But shit, this Maroon 5 show is pretty horrid as well.

I know! I understand the complaints about the timing/potential heat stroke of Kanrocksas (and yeah, the name is dumb), but I don't get the lineup complaints. A first-time two day festival pulls those names? I was skeptical when I heard the festival announced, but the lineup significantly exceeded my expectations.

I love that the hipster backlash has already started. Not enough Grizzly Bear or Belle & Sebastian for you?

I wouldn't be caught dead at 311/Sublime
