Kansas City's latest buzz band, Minden, has been working hard. After Middle of the Map Fest, opening slots for national acts such as Pepper Rabbit, Maserati and Hugo, and the completion of a new, forthcoming 7-inch, Minden has been turning more than a few heads lately. Yesterday the group dropped its first single, "Swift Way On," for digital download, courtesy of their local label the Record Machine.

You may recognize the track from a recent national ad campaign for popular clothing brand Free People starring model Sasha Pivovarova, directed by Guy Aroch. The video was featured on the company's home page in support of their spring catalog, and the blog's chain of comments was a-buzz with people asking for a link to download the song. Well, those Internet fashionistas (and you, dear Wayward listener) don't have to wait any longer.

The first 200 people to visit the group's bandcamp page can snag themselves a free digital download of the catchy tune. After that, it will be available for a measly one dollar. Look for the 7-inch, which features the B-side "Shine the Trophy," to land sometime in June on the Record Machine. And you can catch Minden live, along with many other great local bands, this weekend at the Riot Room's Local Artist Overthrow. To download "Swift Way On," visit the Minden bandcamp page here and check out the Free People ad, featuring the track, below.
