If you're one of those athletic types, it's the season for you to be hitting the pavement and grinding out some 5K and marathon successes. And if you're one of those types who also likes live music, then the second annual Rock the Crossroads 5K run is especially for you. The run (or walk, whichever you choose) starts and ends at Crossroads KC at Grinders on 18th Street and takes a lap through the Crossroads and downtown areas, culminating in a free concert at the Crossroads stage for all participants.
Registration for the Rock the Crossroads run and concert has already begun, and the last day to register with the advanced price of $20 is June 3. After that, the price jumps to $25 through June 20, $30 through July 8, and $35 the day of the race -- Saturday, July 9. In addition to the post-run concert, participants will also receive a T-shirt, food, and Gatorade throughout and after the race. Prizes are awarded per age and gender groups. And if all that isn't enough for your money, this year's charity partner is the Midwest Music Foundation, and any chance to help out the folks down at the MMF is good in our book.
