Kanrocksas is shaping up to have a line-up a little deeper than previously expected (the recent addition of the Diplo and Switch dance-hall project Major Lazer certainly bumped me off the fence). But it's certainly not for everyone. However, for those whose tastes run a little twangier but don't feel like making the trek to Manhattan for Country Stampede, there's another new festival taking place this summer. The Show-Me Music and Arts Festival runs the weekend of June 17-19 and features country stars Trace Adkins, Sawyer Brown and Tim McGraw, as well as classic rockers REO Speedwagon and American Idol's Kellie Pickler.
Tickets are relatively inexpensive. Daily passes are as low as $39 for Friday. Sunday tops out at $65, with a weekend pass setting you back $139. There are also comedians (Southern-fried comic John Reep headlines Friday and Saturday) and various kiddy activities to round everything out. You can find more information, like daily line-ups and so forth, as well as purchase tickets at the event's website.
