I first heard the Kottonmouth Kings when I was in high school. One of my friends -- cheerleader, straight A's, not a pot smoker -- played one of the band's albums for me. "Aren't they great," she said with a beaming smile, her voice full of excitement. A boy she liked had turned her on to them. Suddenly everything had changed.
Kottonmouth Kings will perform on Saturday, August 13, at the Beaumont.
The show is all-ages. Doors open at 7 p.m. Opening solo performances include D
Loc, the Dirtball, Johnny Richter, Kingspade, and DJ Bobby B. My friend won't be there -- she's married to someone else, and tastes change -- but a wild herd of weedheads are sure to turn up.
