Welcome to What I Like, our weekly chat with local musicians about their favorite things.

This week: Actors & Actresses. David Sumner (drums), Scott Bennett (bass, synth) and Andrew Schiller (guitar) create smooth, melodic post-rock laced with synth-laden pre-recorded electronic loops.

Favorite non-local band: True Widow

All-time fave songs: "A New Kind of Water" by This Heat, "Some Velvet Morning" by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra, "Deep Red Bells" by Neko Case ,and "Cortez the Killer" by Neil Young.

Best recent film I’ve seen: A toss-up between The Tree of Life and Birdemic.

Best recent book I’ve read: Born Standing Up by Steve Martin

Favorite TV show: The Wire

Favorite Podcast: WTF with Marc Maron

Favorite venue: Our practice space, when randoms off the street walk in when we forget to lock the door.

Favorite place to eat in Kansas City: Jerusalem Bakery

Favorite neighborhood in Kansas City: 39th and Main, where our band was born.

Favorite bar in Kansas City: The Lone Star

Favorite drink: Sparks

Favorite article of clothing: My blue Adidas that I bought at Halcyon Diversified Trading.

Actors & Actresses performs with True Widow, Mansion and Horse Weapons at the Jackpot Saloon. 9 p.m.
